Green Places Fund

In an era of public service cuts a new form of charitable giving has been set up to secure the future of parks. The Green Places Fund has been developed to help town and cities protect their parks and green spaces by giving them the money they need to invest in improvement and maintenance projects. The new scheme is piloted in Birmingham and Nottingham with support from GreenSpace, Nottingham City Council, Birmingham 9City Council and the Birmingham Open Spaces Forum. The aim of the programme is to empower local land managers, the private and public sectors and communities to come together to unite for the benefit of green space and encourage local people to contribute to their local environment.
